SUNCREAM & HATS
Please can we ask that parents administer suncream on your child BEFORE coming to playgroup and that each child is provided with a labelled sunhat and suncream (Factor 50 ideally). We can reapply suncream before they go out but if you have put on suncream and it lasts all day, you will need to sign the form provided in group to confirm that we do not need to reapply it.
The form will allow parents to confirm that a) their children have got suncream on and b) have been provided with suncream to be reapplied, if required.
Please understand that it is very time consuming putting suncream on each child and hands have to be washed in between should another child react to a different suncream.
WE DO NOT PROVIDE SUN CREAM OR USE OTHER CHILDREN'S IN CASE IT IT NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUR CHILD. IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT PROVIDED WITH SUNCREAM, THEIR OUTDOOR PLAY WILL BE RESTRICTED OR THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY OUT. We don't want them to miss out!

LUNCHBOXES
Now that the (questionable) summer and heat is on its way, PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADD ICE PACKS TO ALL LUNCHBOXES TO KEEP YOUR CHILD'S FOOD COOL. We do not have fridge space to keep your child's lunches in.

GDPR - With the new regulations on data protection coming in 25th May - we will be writing to you to confirm what personal data you have provided us with and consented to us holding which is mandatory when your child is in our care. More details will follow. This will also allow you to provide us with any updated details.

SICKNESS
Phone Number Puddleducks phone number: 01508 571285
**CHICKEN POX**
A number of children are showing as having chicken pox. Please do NOT treat with ibuprofen as this deepens the scarring and can lead to serious problems.
Please remember that the scars must be healed before children can return to Nursery.
Please read here for all DO's and DONT'S:
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/chickenpox/

As always, please remember that children should not return to pre-school for at least 48 hours AFTER the last event of any sickness or diarrhoea. This is crucial to preventing the illness spreading to other children, staff and parents. If our staff are ill, we will not be able to open! Please be considerate - thank you!

Please could we remind you to call the playgroup in the morning to inform us of any absence/sickness. Please do not use the Facebook page to inform us, staff do not have access to Facebook whilst in group.

WOW MOMENTS
At Puddleducks we really love to celebrate your child’s achievement’s. If your child does something at home, however big or small, like learning to ride their bike, swimming, gets dressed on their own, can write their name, can count, or anything that you feel is worthy of sharing, please find the Wow moment box and fill in a star. Please hand the completed Wow moment to your child’s Key Person so that it can be used at carpet time. The Wow sheet will then be placed in the learning story as a memory for later years.

NAME TAGS
Please could we ask that you clearly label all toys, clothes, and lunch boxes with your child’s name. It saves confusion and frustration as some children have the same or similar things. Puddleducks has a fundraising account with a company called ‘MY NAMETAGS’ that supplies both sticky and iron on name tags at a great price. If you would like to order, you can do so through the website www.mynametags.com Just remember to quote our school ID 47550 so that we can raise some funds.

OUTDOOR PLAY & SUITABLE CLOTHING
Please remember to bring suitable outdoor clothing for your child or children. We do access the garden in all weathers. Wellies can be left in group on the outdoor clothing trolley, please remember to name them Could we also ask that you try to dress your children appropriately for their day at Puddleducks, dresses although very beautiful are not always suitable. Please could we also ask that you send your children in clothes that you do not mind them getting wet, muddy or sandy. We like to be able to have messy play and although we do have aprons and all in one- suits, it is not always possible to keep the children clean and dry. Please also remember to put spare clothes in their bags in case of a change being needed; we do have some spare items of clothes in group, but not enough for all children.

UNIFORM
If you'd like to purchase Puddleducks uniform, it is available through Tesco's embroidery service at https://www.tesco.com/direct/puddleducks-playgroup-mulbarton/8943.school

SESSISON TIMES
Please could we ask that children arrive promptly at 9am and again at 12.30. Register and carpet time is an important part of the routine allowing the children to settle. We ask that whatever your drop off time or collection time, you are in the entrance hall/line ready for when the doors open. This means that drop off/collection times run smoothly for children, parents and staff alike. Please could we also request that the member of staff on the door is not distracted by parents giving over information, please find a member of staff in the room. The staff member on the door is there to ensure that all children are registered in to the building and remain safe whilst the main door is open. Just a polite reminder that session finish times are 12pm, 1.30pm or 3.30pm.

DROPPING OFF
We will aim to open the doors promptly at 9am and you will be welcomed into the hall where you can settle your child at an activity. We would ask that you encourage and support your child to find their caterpillar name on arrival, place their things on the peg, lunch boxes on the trolley and special toys into the basket. This is also a good opportunity to inform your child’s key person of any important information that may impact their session that day. In order for the staff to start the days activities with the children and to ensure that the building is secure please could we ask that you try to leave as promptly as possible.

COLLECTION 12pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm
Again, the doors will open as promptly as we can at the end of session times (getting 24 pairs of shoes on can sometimes take a little longer!!) and then the children will be called one at a time by the member of staff on the door to meet the adult who is collecting them. Please can we ask at this time you remain in the entrance hall and your child will come to you once their name has been called.

As lovely as it is to see siblings, please could we ask that they remain with parents/carers at the door and their brothers/sisters will come to them. We will only release your child into the care of adults who are on your 'authorised to collect' form. Please make sure that you make your child’s Key person aware if it is not going to be different person collecting your child. Please ensure that the child collection sheet (on kitchen cupboard) has been filled in by your child’s key person and signed. We are also introducing a password system so please ensure those on your 'authorised to collect' form know your password and that the password is also given to your child’s Key person.

It is important that your child is collected on time. If you are delayed for whatever reason please contact us (01508 571285) and let us know when you expect to arrive. It may be the case that we will need to contact other adults from the 'authorised to collect' form and arrange for them to collect your child. We reserve the right to make an additional charge for late collection – please see our charging policy.

It is really important that you do not use your phone when inside the Playgroup. This is for safeguarding reasons. If you need to use your phone please do so outside the building.

HEALTHY EATING
Here at Puddleducks we regard snack and meal times as an important part of the children’s day. We promote healthy eating at snack and lunch time, we encourage nutritious foods that meet the child’s individual dietary requirements. Please could we take the opportunity to remind you of our healthy eating policy and ask that you supply your child/children with lunch boxes that are as healthy as possible. Please do not pack any chocolate or sweets in your child’s lunch box (as a general rule if they have been purchased in the confectionery isle of the supermarket, please do not pack them in the lunch box. If in doubt then please speak to a member of staff and they will be happy to offer advice.) We are unable to refrigerate lunch boxes so if you include items that need to stay cold e.g. yoghurt, please use a cold pack. We will supply water at lunch time so you do not need to supply a drink. Those children attending Puddleducks for a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon are reminded to bring lunch with them. Water will be available for drinks.

PLEASE REMEMBER PUDDLEDUCKS IS A NUT FREE ZONE. PLEASE COULD WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD PEANUT BUTTER, NUTELLA OR CHOCOLATE SPREAD.

TAPESTRY ONLINE LEARNING JOURNALS
If you are unable to access your child’s online learning journal please speak to Sarah and we will aim to resolve the issue.

LIBRARY BOOKS AND STORY SACKS
These will be available for all children to see and choose from on a daily basis. These can be found on the book rack, in the door alcove. Please encourage your child to choose a new book and don’t forget that any book taken needs to be recorded in the library records book. This is just to ensure we can keep track of our books. We also have a selection of story sacks for the children to choose from. Story sacks are a great way of sharing stories with the whole family. They contain activities that are related to the story. As with the books, please make sure you record which story sack has been taken and on return have them checked and signed back in by a member of staff.

SHOW AND TELL
Please encourage your child to be involved with circle time. Encourage them to find and bring something that relates to the colour of the week, or something special that they wish to share with their friends. If your child brings things to show, please could we ask that they are clearly labelled.
